Principal Mullaney and students posed for a photo before embarking on the senior cruise.
Friday evening on May 15, the senior class cast-off on its annual boat cruise in Boston Harbor. What a memorable night for most of the seniors of the class of ’09! It was an outstanding event, from seeing the Boston skyline up and close to dancing to your favorite tunes. Everyone had a blast from students to faculty members, down to your “very hip” principal Mr. Mullaney who danced to “Pass the Courvoisier” by P. Diddy. Class of ’09 was definitely the life of the party whether breaking it down to” The Stanky leg” by the GS Boys or dancing to all the “old school” hits.

Class faculty advisors Don Valentine and Emily Moore, and Michael Chung and other class officers all helped make this event happen. Class of ‘09 sold 125 tickets and The Harbor Boat Cruise generously gave us back 1,000 dollars! The evening started out chilly as we set sail from Central Warf near the aquarium into Boston harbor. By then you could see more student moving downwards into the dance hall. I overheard some even say, “We should have had prom on this boat.”

The night was smooth and relaxing, but wild when the music started playing. “The Congo line around the boat was my highlight of the cruise,” said senior Carlos Fuentes.  As for Renee Arsenault, the Cotton-Eyed Joe was her memorable old school step. Not all seniors who signed up to go showed up, but those who did had a blast even if it was tempered with nostalgia.

“Watching the sunset on my senior boat cruise with my boyfriend by my side made me cry, to know we’re going in to the real world now,” said Juliana Carillo. “Its sad.”
