The theme of prom was “Sweet Dreams” and for many of the students who attended, it seemed just that. This prom seemed to be better than the 2007 and 2008 proms according to some teachers who have attended them.

The prom was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. This hotel is a five star hotel that had everything you would want to make the prom great. The decorations and the centerpieces caught a lot of people’s eyes. When you walked in, you could see the shining chandeliers, the big dance floor and the tables filled with candy.

All of the candy was a good way to make the 2009 prom sweet. There was Rock Candy, Skittles, Starburst and more. Brenda Rivera, a junior, appreciated the candy. “I loved the candy,” she said, “because it got me up and ready to dance.”

Students who attended Chelsea High School and their dates looked handsome and beautiful in their tuxes and dresses. There were all types of colors, like a rainbow.

The music was great. There was techno, R&B and all types of music to make the prom entertaining. Everyone was on the dance floor showing off their moves. The teachers seemed like they were also having a great time. I remember seeing Ms. Amy Czarnowski, dancing in one eye and the Weinbergs in the other. There was a great vibe and you could tell everyone was having fun.

Then it was dinnertime, which included a wonderful chicken parmesan with spaghetti shells and for dessert, chocolate brownies with ice cream and caramel. You could taste the sweetness of the caramel and the chocolate greatness! It was delicious and a great way to leave your taste buds wanting more.

When Prom finally came to an end, the seniors of 2009 were disappointed that their dream was over. As guests were leaving, the prom committee gave everyone a gift of a little vase filled with candy.

I overheard one of the seniors saying, ”It was a fun night. I think that the prom committee did well on putting it all together.”
