In the first edition of Braves News for the 2009-10 school year, there are some corrections that must be made to what was in print:
1) On page five, in the article by Cassidy Howell, the percentages of homosexual individuals in the United States were incorrect. Sources we have found present a variety of percentages, and these numbers vary due to how the poll is taken, size of sample, and general reliability of respondents. However, all data that we seen points to percentages less than 10% for both men and women.
2) On the same page, the number of households was incorrectly stated. In America, there are approximately 105,480,101 households, and for the world, approximately 2 billion.
3) On page seven, the comments which were attributed to Mr. Tymchuk were made in jest, to describe the heirarchy of high school. It was not intended to be anything more than a humorous reference.
4) Also on page seven, there was some confusion about the Sno Ball, having a court, and underclassmen. According to current information from ASB officers, there will be no court for this winter dance. Please see their article in this online issue to get the full details. In addition, the Young Court article should have been placed in the opinions section of the newspaper.
5) On page twelve, Aaron Corcoran's name was left off as a Face in the Crowd winner.
As student journalists, we will strive to do a better job editing and confirming our information before it is published. However, mistakes will occasionally occur, and when they do please feel free to contact us with corrections, or comments, at print@rhsnews.org. We appreciate your feedback.
