Fefe Dobson is a 19 year old Canadian-born songstress whose debut CD is planning its arrival this fall. “Take Me Away” is the promotional single for the album. When listening to the single, two things stands out: her voice and the beat. The song starts out with drums, quickly followed by a guitar, which gives a false impression of rock. And while she claims to have grown up listening to various artists, including Nirvana and Michael Jackson, the best way to describe her would be if you gave Mandy Moore a guitar - she even sounds like Mandy Moore. No matter how much rock emphasis there is, she will always bear a sense of upbeat pop. Although I cannot say I’m a fan, the flow of the song was catchy so I wouldn’t be suprised if it ended up on the top 40.
