The Walking Dead is a amc original series that is possibly the best zombie apocalypse show on television. This may be because it is the only show of its kind and is totally original. Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln, the former sheriff of a small rural town leads a group of survivors against zombies, or walkers. These walkers are very deadly and feed on human flesh and track humans by smell and sound. In order to stay away from these walkers the group travels together trying to get to safe ground away from the walker infested city. Rick does everything to keep his wife Lori, played by Sarah Wayne Callies, and his son Carl, played by Chandler Riggs, safe but this is hard when walkers are everywhere they travel and rapidly attach the camps. Also there is some tension between the survivors especially with Lori and Shane, played by John Bernthal, after he told here Rick had died.
This original series is allot like some movies such as The Crazies. Although there is no sign of biological warfare the two are alike in many ways. They both are thrilling and suspenseful and have you lured in by the horrific zombies and events. Although the two are alike the walking dead is told to be better because of the story line and characters. The show runs on amc as a series and instead of having as movie a different story is told every weak. In many peoples eyes the zombies look to be more real as well.
This show is great and extremely popular. If you like suspense this gripping show is perfect for you. Between the gore and storyline this overthrows all other series on TV. You can count for every episode to have a unique story so you will never become bored by this. Tune in amc on sudays at nine or stream the entire first season and netflix.
