With the new incoming freshman just starting high school there are lots of new changes and challenges to go through; sports being one of them. So I asked new incoming freshman Molly Viles what the transition was like from middle school volleyball to high school volleyball. I asked her the big question first, what really was the transition like? She looked at me with a huge smile on her face and said, “Pretty big actually, middle school was all low key at first and now in high school it’s pretty hardcore!” It really seemed like she liked it a lot better. With her expectations to go to the state championships this year, she really was learning and playing a lot more than ever before “The team is like another family, intimidating at first but after getting to know all of them we all just got really close.” Hitting, killing it or even spiking it were all some of Molly’s favorite things to do during practice, “but actually getting to play isn’t so bad either.” High school seems to be doing good for all the volleyball players, we have a great, dedicated, and determined team that I’m sure will make it far. Thanks to Rosie Honl for giving all of her time to teaching these girls. Winning isn’t as easy at this level, but with the effort all these girls give and the determination they put forth, the Crook County Cowgirls may indeed go very far again this year and reach all of their intended goals.
