The varsity Cowgirl soccer team has struggled with tough pre season with playing Springfield, Redmond, Woodburn, Eagle Point, Mazama, and Klamath Union. Being part of the team, some of the things we’ve struggled with as a team are our communication out on the field, and sometimes we let some forwards from the other team past our last line of defense. A few things the Cowgirl team has improved on from their last couple of games is getting the ball out of the air and not giving up and keeping after the ball. A disadvantage for the Cowgirls is the number of girls they have with 15 girls it only gives them three subs, so it is hard for them to keep a high intensity through the 80 minute game. Although the scores may not show it the varsity Cowgirls are improving every game and are preparing for league games. Which start Tuesday, October 6th they play The Dalles at home at 4:00
The Junior Varsity had about the same problems as the varsity team but has pulled a few wins off. Sophomore, Shelby Worthing, says she is glad that they have been able to win a couple of games, but that they still have a lot of room to improve as a team. With things such as better shots on goal, communicating, and getting back on defense. However, along with Varsity they are improving every game.
