Advertising
Suzanne Warrick is the new director of the Keyser High School Marching Band. Originally from Pennsylvania, Warrick graduated from Carlisle High School in 1996 and then attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Prior to coming to Keyser, she taught in Arizona, directing the junior high and high school bands. She also taught choir and general music at Petersburg High School

Warrick said, "Here in Keyser, there is more culture, and the band is a great group of kids to work with."

Warrick lives in Petersburg, but is making plans to move to Keyser soon. She lives with her husband, Chris.

This year, the 115-member band will be performing "Quidam," a show of the critically acclaimed "Cirque de Soleil." The show consists of four songs: "Atmadja", "Ninkou Latora", "Quidam" and "Incantation."

Followers of the band will notice new competition, as bands from Pennsylvania travel to compete in the area. At the Allegany show, Northern York and Lancaster Catholic will be making appearances and will compete with Keyser. Keyser will also travel to Pennsylvania to compete in three competitions en route to their ninetieth consecutive appearance at the Atlantic Coast Championship in Scranton.
