The Girls’ soccer team had a tough match against Hereford on September 15. The game resulted in a tie to give them a 1-0-1 record on the season. Hereford broke the 0-0 tie with a goal 30 seconds into the second half of the game.
“We came out a little slow and not as energetic as usual,” said senior Danielle Pulliam.
Senior Peyton Johnson scored for the Comets about halfway through the second period. By the end of eighty minutes the game was still all tied up. In the first overtime period, goalkeeper Kelli Beard dove to save a ball and separated her shoulder. Senior Emily Boller came in and played goalie. After double overtime the game was final and the result, a 1-1 tie with the Hereford Bulls.
The team plays again Monday, September 21 at Landsdowne. They are all ready preparing for the match.
“We need to work on movement off the ball as a team, transmission and finishing,” commented Pullliam.
