One of Ashley Asbury's wishes is to become a poet and writer. - Ally Boston

Ashley Asbury has liked writing for as long as she can remember. From poems to lyrics, she does it all.
“Writing, to me, is an escape. It allows me to express my feelings on paper,” she explained.
Her daily life is an inspiration to her; from moments of sadness to sheer joy, she’ll write about anything and everything. Writing helps her recognize problems and let her emotions out, and gives her a purpose. When she starts writing, Asbury is determined to finish; that’s how she overcomes writer's block. It keeps her motivated.
Though she has yet to pierce her ears and prefers writing with pen and paper, she is pretty up to date with the times. Asbury is also interested in photography, and started taking pictures in eighth grade for memorabilia purposes.
Asbury has a lot of hopes for the future. She wants to be a writer, namely a poet, and is interested in publishing a story with poems in it. She’d also like to do graphic design for magazines like M Magazine, and maybe even start her own magazine. If she ever was a part of a magazine, Asbury hopes to have her own ‘poetry corner.’
Sophia Barden, a sophomore and Asbury’s close friend from elementary school said, “Ashley’s writing is very good; she is a really great writer. She’s really nice and fun loving.”
Cheldon Simon, another one of Ashley’s classmates who has only known her for a few weeks, says that Asbury “is very smart, and has a good head on her shoulders. She’s pretty awesome and good-looking.”
All in all, expect great things from Ashley Asbury. Look for her magazines and poetry books in the future!
