"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" holds true to the spirit of the series, and has been highly recommended by guest reviewer Cheldon. - Google

Ever since the movie series of the acclaimed Harry Potter books took off in 2000, all movies in the series have been blockbusters, even if they have been getting mixed feedback. Fans waiting for the last movie hoped that it would end the storyline with a bang, and I must say, somebody was listening to their prayers.

Being a Harry Potter fan myself, I was a bit reluctant to go and see the last movie. One, because it’s the last movie, and I’m sad that the Harry Potter journey is over. Two, I went to see the last movie that came out, and I was very disappointed that I spent my money on it. I was worried that the series would end badly, and wanted to avoid that final memory.

The Deathly Hallows
, Part I,  makes up for the last film, though, starting with the graphic display and special effects, which were amazing.  My favorite example was the aerial battle in the beginning. I won’t spoil it for those who have not seen it, but, true to the subject of the film, this sequence literally casts a spell on your eyes that won’t allow you to take them off the screen.

The storyline in the movie gave testament to the greatness of the book as both continued the epic good vs. evil struggle of Harry and Voldemort. It also did an effective job of conveying mood in emotional situations. For example, close to the end when a favorite character died (I won't give that away either), I almost cried. Most people in the theatre weren’t as successful as I was.

The pace of the story is quick.  The story starts with the Minister of Magic giving a speech on how strong the Ministry of Magic is. From there the story shifts to the aerial chase between the Death Eaters and Harry’s “crew”. Next, Harry and friends arrive at the Burrow and have a wedding, shortly after which Death Eaters take over and Harry, Ron, and Hermione flee.  That’s all I’m going to say because I don’t want to be a spoiler, but even at the end, the storyline was perfectly put together. The split in the story at the end of this film concluded in a way that made you mad. By this time you’re really getting into the storyline, and you don't want to wait until the summer for the end.  It aleaves you so excited! I know I was.

For a book of this length, I think that the screenwriter captured the important events perfectly because as we all know if they tried to capture every detail the movie would not be out yet, and it would be far too long. I am looking forward to Part II.

As a word of warning, The Deathly Hallows is rated PG-13, and, parents, I don’t think you should bend the rules this time. This movie contains brief scenes of nudity that aren’t exactly rated R, scary scenes such as people dying, and a very old women transforming into a snake. For children with weak hearts and a tendency to have nightmares, I wouldn’t advise this movie. Similar to the last movie, The Deathly Hallows does not contain the happy and cheery tone that the first five contained.
