The sun is shining, the grass is getting green, and, for now, all seems to be well in the entertainment world.
This year has been an eventful one for the entertainment industry. And as I write what is to be my last column for all the fine LC students, there is a lot to look forward to in the upcoming months.
The most traditional, and possibly the most promising events happening in the next few months are the summer blockbusters. The line-up for this summer is a stacked one that will keep viewers wrist deep in buttery popcorn for all three months.
My top five must see movies of this summer are as follows: Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Krystal Skull, The Dark Knight, Step Brothers and The Love Guru. So for all of the slackers out there, if you accomplish anything this summer make sure it is seeing these movies.
Hopefully by now we are all aware that the writers strike is over and that all the primetime shows have returned. Being able to watch all my favorite TV shows is refreshing compared to what I watched during the strike, but unfortunately these shows will be ending their seasons soon. There is a hope that this summer will provide us with better shows then summers past.
Most of the shows that are airing this summer are the usual garbage whose sole purpose is to give viewers something to watch in between commercials. However, there is one show whose return I am truly looking forward to its return. That show is none other than 30 Days. The show 30 Days is a weekly documentary given by Morgan Spurlock who achieved fame after his acclaimed documentary Super Size Me.
In the show he lives a unique lifestyle for 30 days to show what it would be like. The first episode will show life working in a coal mine, but future episodes have him living in a wheelchair and even living as a same-sex parent.
This summer has some promising entertainment value, and in between grilling out and playing baseball, we can all keep it reel.
