Ho, Ho, Ho — the chaps of Devilyn Alaska wish all a Merry Christmas. -

The band A Message for Madison has been in business for about a year now, but recently decided to switch things up and has been reborn and renamed Devilyn Alaska.
Carson Allen, Pat Wolfe, Barzon Mallak, and Dave Zetterholm are the four key members of the band and have developed their music because it’s simply what they do.
The recent name change was caused by the band’s urge to try something new.
For days and days, literally, they thought about what to rename the band. One of the ideas thrown into the mix was Devil in Alaska which they decided to transform into Devilyn Alaska.
Though no one is sure whether or not Devilyn, Alaska is indeed a real place, all the fans seem to love the
change and the band is promoting the new name all over the place.
Allen, Wolfe, and Mallak are from Billings, Montana. They have made their way from band to band, trying things out and ending up in Denver, Colorado.
Here, they discovered Zetterholm, whom Carson found “completely amazing and magical.”
Allen has used his talent to become main vocals while Wolfe has combined vocals and guitar. Mallak has taken the power of the bass and Zetterholm that of the drums.
Devilyn Alaska is a hardcore rock band currently residing in Denver and shaking things up while preparing to record a new EP in January.
While readying themselves for the studio, the band has planned a few shows for touring after they complete recording.
Devilyn, Alaska's music is influenced by the good and bad things throughout the band members’ lives. They write to first please themselves then translate that to their listeners who obviously enjoy the music they create.
Lead vocalist Carson Allen has been inspired by various things. "Personally, I am inspired by all the great and horrible things that I've gone through in my life, from a bad childhood, losing a close relative to suicide, and bad breakups, to being in love, great friends, amazing memories, loving life!"
Allen continued, "I love singing because I am not good at expressing my feelings any other way. Singing is my catharsis, my escape."
The band as a whole is propelled through their music career by basically everything in the world taking bits and pieces from every aspect of anything that happens to occur.
This attitude about the things around them allows them to create the half-screamo and hardcore, half- angelic and intense instrumental music they produce.
"We all know music through and through. We all play different kinds of
instruments, and everybody has a say in every part," said Allen. "We are always swapping instruments and exchanging ideas at our practices."
As for lyrics, for the most part Allen lets his hand write what’s in his heart.
Sometimes, the lyrics are as clear as day but sometimes, they aren't at all and don't make much sense.
No matter where they are coming from, though, they make amazing music—music that makes the listeners feel good. Who doesn't like that?
On their myspace page, one of the members wrote, "For right now, we are just writing and getting ready for summer. We are hitting the road in July for a couple weeks with our good friends. ‘Eff Those Divas’ should be a great tour!
“As for recording, we are scheduled to hit the studio on the January 18 to start tracking for our upcoming EP. We are working with an amazing producer, and the tracks should be awesome, expect to hear some tunes from us in early February."
Devilyn Alaska members know that they owe a lot to their supportive and amazing fans. "Our fans mean everything to us. We hate using the term fan, though, because that makes us feel as though we are putting them below us. We try as hard as we can to become friends with every person we meet/play for, so really our friends mean the world to us."
