Last year when our assistant principal, Mrs. Knight, left to be the principal at the Goshen Intermediate School, Global teacher Mr. Isseks took over as interim assistant principal. Over the summer, the Board of Education found a permanent successor. After a series of interviews, the school hired Patricia Lercara as the new assistant principal of Goshen High School.



Mrs. Lercara, who has an extensive history of administrative positions, comes to this district with the intention of “creating an environment that enables our teachers to help students be the best that they can be." Formerly, Mrs. Lercara worked for the Middletown City School District for 19 years teaching at both the high school and middle school levels. Along with the experience gained from teaching, she also ran programs for students with academic and disciplinary issues. Mrs. Lercara believes that the only way to succeed in her position is to create a strong bond with the faculty, which she believes is already there.



With this new position growing on her and her presence growing on us, Mrs. Lercara hopes that this year she will be able to “create a healthy learning environment for everyone.” She seems up to the task. We hope she enjoys her position here at Goshen High School.
