As the 2005-2006 sports year kicks off for the Pinewood Preparatory Panthers, each sports program looks to have a successful season. The Pinewood Swim Team sets out to repeat last year’s performance in winning a state championship by swimming to their first victory of the year. The Pinewood Volleyball team also experienced early success by beating Hilton Head Christian in their first match of the year. The Lady Panthers took the match in three games with scores of 25-23, 25-17, and 25-13. Senior Carolina Miller and juniors Danielle Johnson and Mallory Haupt lead the panthers to victory. Talent wise this may be the best volleyball team yet. The success did not stop there. The Pinewood Football team also one their season opener in a hard fought game against Dorchester Academy. As talented panthers played the newest rival, sophomore running back Ryan Steed, from First Baptist, accounted for three touchdowns in the Panther’s 24-8 victory. As Pinewood Preparatory continues to grow and improve, our sports teams will grow and improve as well. That is why we look forward to all of our fall sports team to have great success.
