“Watching the Angels win a lot of games” is what Nina Ruiz is looking forward to this season.

Baseball season has begun and fans are excited. It has been a long six months since the World Series in October and everyone wants to know if their team is good enough to take home the title. Will the

Philadelphia Phillies take the title for the third time in Phillie history?

The season is now under way with the Dodgers winning the first game of the season 4-2 against the San Diego Padres on April 6, 2009. If the Dodgers keep this up, they will be able to defend their division title.

Also, the Los Angeles Angels won their first game of the season 3-0 against the Oakland Athletics on April 6, 2009. Like the Dodgers, the Angels won their division title in the playoffs. Are they good enough to make it again? In spring training, they won 26 games and only lost 8, the highest of any other team in the majors. “We have a lot of good players and a lot of enthusiasm.” Nina Ruiz said when asked why the Angels are good enough to make it to the World Series.

Some people turn to superstitious ways to make sure their team will win. For example, some fans don’t like to talk about their team the day of the game, afraid that it will make them lose. Others always make sure to wear their lucky socks or necklace on the day of a game.

Lots of students are planning on supporting their teams by going to some of the games. Others are just going to wear their teams’ jersey or hat to show they are fans. Whether they go to the games or wear the teams clothing, all fans are showing their support for their favorite team.
