Tennis Serves Up a Win
Colusa High Tennis team smashes Willows over the net, bringing their league wins to a total of four on October 12th.
Unfortunately, they lost their previous match against rival Willows leaving them in third place in the league. In order to qualify for playoffs, they needed to be in at least second place.
But there is always lots of excitement coming from all of our girls. They support each other through every match whether they win or not. What really matters to them is having fun and working hard. One player stated that, “We need more players next year, because it’s really fun and we really want more teammates.” Senior Talyn Imhoff proudly stated, “I was the only one to win every one of my sets in both matches.” Talyn, along with Junior Tenille Tauscher achieved "all league" in doubles at their tennis tournament. They played in the championship game on October 24th and took second place. Talyn and Tenille advanced to the section finals last Saturday, along with fifteen other teams. Unfortunately, out of four rounds, they did not make it past the first round. Everyone did their best in all of their matches, and everyone had a lot of fun. We all know by now that winning is not always the most important thing to be thinking about during a game. Much more important is working together, making new friendships, and building memories to last a lifetime.
