After millions of votes nationwide, the winner of this year's season of "American Idol" will be announced.
It's down to 27-year-old Adam Lambert and 23-year-old Kris Allen. The final performances took place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The other top thirteen singers from season seven also performed, including Danny Gokey who was eliminated last week.
Many students at WHS have been fans of "American Idol" for years and continue to watch their favorites sing every week.
"Adam is definitely my favorite for this year," said sophomore Kaylee Andres. "He's a stud and he has a great voice."
The two finals are each extremely different in character. Lambert has a sort of edgy rocker attitude abouit him, while Allen is more of the type to sit back and play the guitar.
"I think that Kris should win," said sophomore Morgan Wright. "He seems like the type that America would like more in general."
Others are more on the Adam Lambert bandwagon.
"I think Adam is going to win because I'm sure his performanced impressed America," said Anna Claudelin. "I couldn't wait to watch."
The results will be announced at the end of a two-hour finale on May 20 that will include performances by Carlos Santana, Cindy Lauper, Queen Latifah, Lionel Richie, Black Eyed Peas, and some surprise guests.
