Jan. 26 through the 31 was courtwarming week for OGHS. This year’s theme was a "black and white affair" and the themes for the week included everything from dressing up with a friend as a famous couple to a complete school black out. The enthusiasm was abundant as students prepared their outfits and made reservations at restaurants and

nail salons.

  Some students

may be more excited than others for the upcoming formal dance, but everyone is in high spirits.

Junior Drew Cummings said his favorite part about courtwarming is the "before hand hype." However, some students feel this year’s theme is anything but exciting. Senior Jessica Frederico said, "The theme is ok, but it’s over done. Everyone does it."

As an event between Homecoming and Prom, courtwarming just last year was changed from a formal dance to a semi formal dance and for the benefit of the students Junior Heather Wilcutt said, "It’s good they changed it to semi formal because not everyone can afford to buy nice formal clothes to go." Money seems to be a big issue among the students with all the money girls spend on a dress, nails and hair. Even for guys, the expense of buying the dinner for their date and a corsage can really add up.

  However,

some would agree that the expense is worth it if they have fun that night.
