Goodbye "Orange" Brick Road: Devin's farewell message Embed This Article
I, along with most of the senior class, have counted down the days to graduation since about sophomore year. But as it grew nearer, I found myself wishing the time to slow down. I began to realize how many great memories are contained within these halls. Granted, homework, tests, and quizzes are not my favorite things in the world, but they aren’t going anywhere, no matter where I end up. There will always be work to be done, but there will never be the camaraderie and the sense of family that one has in high school. Many students complain about high school, but the truth is that it’s not going to get much easier, unless we go back kindergarten of course. I, for one, will miss Harlem; sure there have been some rough times, but that isn’t what I will remember when I think back to my experiences here. There is an entire world that is opening up to us now, and it is our duty to take what we have learned and live the lives we want. There will be new friends and new experiences in the many years to come, but we will never forget the memories we have created in high school. For better or worse, high school shapes who we are, and we will take these experiences with us wherever we go in life.
