“Read Avatar...I mean it.” DJ Davis, senior at Platte Canyon High school seriously said. Avatar is just one of the many books offered at the Book Fair.

Ms. Kathy Lederhos, Platte Canyon’s librarian, was very enthusiastic to announce the most popular release this year, Evermore by Alyson Noel.  All the copies are sold out. She went and purchased five more copies from Barnes and Noble, and they are already sold out! She can only take orders now.

Looking at the crowd at the Book Fair, students seemed very intrigued by the interesting selection of books this year.

Samuel Didier, senior at Platte Canyon, saw a sign advertising the event and he knew it was his calling. He was very excited, “Yeah! Look at that horse! So many neehaws…” That’s what Didier calls horses. He was ready to buy Horse Dictionary. It really got his heart racing. There is something about horses that attract his attention.

Krisjan Visser, another senior, discovered the Book Fair through Didier. He thinks the event turned out successful. “Look at all the people in here.”

Michael West, Junior, came to the Fair simply for the fact that they offer the Twilight Series. “I love Twilight.” He plans on purchasing the series before the Book Fair ends. He discovered the fair through Didier as well, “Yeah, Sam texted me last night and told me to come today.” He also believed the success level was great. “On a scale of one to ten, this is off the charts.”

When asking the students about the prices, they all believed they were reasonable. Most book prices ranged from 6.95 to 12.95. “It’s good to see the reasonable prices with our stable economy.” mentioned Visser. West thought, “With the economic situation these days, prices are ridiculously affordable.”

There is still time to purchase and feast eyes upon the galore of books. The book fair should stay open until Monday April, 27th, but Ms. Lederhos decided to keep it going until Friday, May 1st. The book fair has been a success and Davis as he walked out he exclaimed, “This makes me want to READ!”
