The first hour guitar class is having a challenging end of the semester. The class is working hard on an upcoming concert. The concert is this upcoming Thursday April 16th at 6 o clock. The class is working on a song, Down on the Corner, by Credence Clearwater Revival. Each member of the class has a separate part. Some parts of the song are covered in duos, and most are single parts.

The class has to take at least three quizzes every Friday. The quizzes include coming up with a song of their choice, a song of Mr. Walter’s choice, and finally a string exercise. One of the perks of this class is not having much homework. The students of this class only are assigned homework when more practice is needed to improve for an upcoming event or quiz according to Prentiss “If the Walters is mad at us!”

A first hour student, Austin Prentiss, is an avid guitar player. In the upcoming show, Prentiss is playing the song “Aerials” by System of a Down with Thomas Juete, another sophomore. Prentiss said, “I think the whole class will do well in the concert.”

Juete is also continuing to work hard to make the concert as best as possible. Juete is one of the up and coming guitar players in the class and is working hard with Prentiss to perfect their song. “Austin and I have some work to do, but are going to get the song down by next week,” said Juete.

Another guitar class student, Jacob McKeon, sophomore, is playing Tom Petty’s world famous song “Free Falling”. McKeon is also working very hard and practicing anytime he can, with baseball practice taking up his spare time. McKeon said, “Aaron Ingalls and I are sort of nervous, but will pull it off in the end."

Finally, the classes are continuing to work on their songs and are studying up for their test. Prentiss, Juete, and McKeon all have tough parts that will help this concert come together. All three students seem to have similar ideas about the concert and have high hopes for the class. Good luck!
