By comparing, and talking to many teachers and students, there is a discovery that Mrs. April Risenhoover’s classes are much more difficult than Mr. John Ghist’s classes. The hardest part in Risenhoover’s classes is the workload and stress level, although in Ghist’s class, Britney Mapes said, “There isn’t anything unreasonable about Mr. Ghist’s class.” This can go to show that the classes at Platte Canyon are very bearable and enjoyable to undertake. Upon asking about what should be different in classes, Risenhoover said, “The only thing I would change is having an AP class.” By comparison Sarah Simpson says, “There is nothing I would change in Mr. Ghist’s class.” Risenhoover was expecting a difficult class, but she hopes every student can pass with a respectable grade.
Risenhoover says students often stay after school to catch up on work. This is a good way to stay ahead of the game and do better on your classwork. On the other hand, Brittney Mapes said, “I only stay after occasionally.”
Mrs. Risenhoover says she only gives out homework upon introducing new subjects. Even though Risenhoover gives out a lot of work, it is a great opportunity to learn a ton from her; she passes on life lessons in between the lines of her teaching, and teaches students in such a way so that they can remember it for the rest of their lives.
Mr. Ghist’s class is a very good class to take. It is a wonderful chance to learn interesting and new ways to apply the tactics in the real world. Both classes are good ways to learn and improve your knowledge in the science world. Mrs. Risenhoover teaches a lot of great material, therefore it is harder to retain it.
