The people of Platte Canyon will always remember a young female, an inspiration to all, who was killed on Saturday May 2, 2009.  Kjersti Anderson was a kind, loving person who did not take life for granite.  She soaked life in and absorbed every last part of it.

She had many friends, a loving family, and a good life.  Kjersti always tried to make life enjoyable and worth living for and in that regard she succeeded.  She was always smiling.

Even if she struggled in school, she persevered through it.  She hid it from other students; she did not want to upset others.  She was always thinking about the others surrounding her.

It was amazing to see the community of Bailey come together.  On the Saturday of the accident, the drama students of Platte Canyon High School performed a play only hours after the accident.  The student performed a musical, The Sound of Music, and they gave a performance of their lifetime, where they sang their hearts out in loving memory of Kjersti.  The drama class decided to play because they knew that Kjersti always loved the theater.

Kjersti was a sophomore student who was well on her way to graduating.  She was a very bright, dedicated student who was well on her way to graduation.  She was very smart and she focused on her grades.

While Kjersti focused on her grades, she also liked to party and socialize with her friends.  She enjoyed going out on a Friday night and hanging back with her many friends.  She enjoyed dances, and enjoyed life to the fullest.

It is because of these reasons that we will remember a student who soaked life in and was always smiling.  We will never forget her for impacting our life’s in such a positive way.
