Music is a universal language that helps us connect with people from all over the world. It also helps soothe us. Perhaps it may bring some people back to a happy time when they used to dance around when they were little, when they were 5 or 6.

Music also helps people memorize, when they get older and they can’t remember a lot of things.  They may be able to remember the sounds of one of their favorite songs. So music helps jog their memory.

Some may ask why music is so comforting. Could it be that the comfort comes from within? Does it remind some people of being in their mother’s womb? Before a person is even born they can hear the beating of their mother’s heart. This is like in music when you hear the beat of the drum. For instance, when you are at a parade, the bass drum is like the heart of the song and it feels like your heart is pounding.

People can get over fears through music. When people have a fear of elevators, music can help calm them. The music can soothe the person who’s scared or has a fear of being in a small space. It can also distract the person so they don’t focus on their fear.

Music is all over the place. You can find it at the beach by the sounds of the waves, or in an elevator.  It is a universal language that many people can relate to and can understand the communication of other people through it.
