A book not to keep silent about Hush, Hush - Conor Donovan

I have recently stumbled upon a new aspiring author, Becca Fitzpatrick, whose first book is called Hush, Hush.

This book about a sixteen year old girl named Nora Grey takes place in the fictional town of Clearwater, Maine.

She is a great student who is very comfortable with the way things are in her life, until one day her biology teacher switches up the seating chart, messing her up completely.

Now instead of sitting next to her best friend, Vee Sky, she is sitting next to the mysterious senior transfer, Patch, who knows just the right ways to get under her skin.

From the very first moment Nora meets Patch, she knows he is hiding something, possibly a secret about his past. Nora makes a promise not to expose his secret.  In trying, Nora finds herself more and more attracted to her new partner, Patch.

In no time at all she finds herself going on a date with Patch, realizing her feelings for him outweighed her suspicions about him.

One night Nora notices a V-shaped scar on Patch’s back. Intrigued by his scars, she touches them when he hugs her.

When she touches them, she finds herself mentally sucked into his scars, quickly realizing that she is seeing Patch’s past.

After Nora withdraws her hands from his scars, she pulls away from Patch in a wave of emotion because she had also seen what Patch planned to do. What she sees terrifies her.

The book Hush, Hush is a romantic, action filled mystery that will captivate anyone. This book also alludes to the bible in interesting ways. It is a tale of fallen angels, familial struggles, and the trials of everyday life all wrapped into one fantastic book.

The sequel, Crescendo, is due out next fall. I wonder what is in store for Nora and her now boyfriend Patch.
