Most male students say they want a variety of video games and game consoles as well as i- technology and you can’t go wrong with laptops. On the other hand, the female population says they prefer things such as clothes and jewelry from a variety of stores.

A simpler gift idea for a friend, especially if a department store is what you have in mind, is gift cards; they are a simple way to allow your friend to purchase what they want and students prefer this because it “takes out the hassle of finding sizes and different designs for your friend or family,” according to TCHS sophomore Brookylan Cox.

For a more musically-interested friend or family member, band t-shirts or other logo products are a must have. ITunes gift cards or MP3 accessories also make good gifts according to Austin Evans. Head phones and IPod cases are a relativity inexpensive gift that you can be sure will not go un-used.

And of course, you can not go wrong with a hand made gift. ‘Although they take a little more time, they are really special as well a cheap,” said student Chandler Smith. A simple card with a personalized message is a cost- efficient way to show someone you care.

With all the options for gift ideas out there, there really isn’t an excuse not to get your friend or family a little something for the holidays.
