CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – On May 4 and 5, the TCHS Drama Club performed their annual spring production for the public, according to Karen McAnelly, director. This year, their performance was titled “The Seussodyssey” by Don Zolidis. In addition, several monologues were performed by cast members.
In this play, Homer’s Odyssey is transformed into the style of Dr. Seuss. The play centers around Odysseus, played by Ozzie Delgado, who is journeying home by boat to his wife Penelope, played by McKenzie Lawson. On the way, Odysseus and his crew members encounter several monsters and enchantresses, such as the Cyclops, Circe, the Sirens, and Scylla and Charybdis. Back home, various suitors are trying to win Penelope’s heart, though she is still in love with her husband. When Odysseus returns, he is forced to fight for Penelope’s honor. The play is “Seussified” with rhyming lines and includes a twist on Green Eggs and Ham.
