CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.- Two TCHS students have been chosen by the local RECC to attend an all expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. “We currently serve four counties, and try to send one from each county,” said RECC representative Ann Beard.

The students who have been chosen from TCHS are Emily Florence and Anna Scott.

Students who apply must write a 500 word (or less) essay stating why they wish to represent Taylor County in D.C.

“The students will also spend a day in Frankfort and meet speakers from the legislative and judicial branches, and the governor for a photo,” said Beard.

Scott and Florence will be leaving for D.C. June 15 and return June 22; while there, they will be visiting the Capitol, memorials, Arlington Cemetery and other landmarks as well as meeting legislators.

"There will also be an All States day where Florence and Scott will meet students from all over the USA," said Beard.

There will be approximately 90 student representatives from Kentucky’s Electric Cooperatives.
