Are you ready to embark on an adventure that can change your life forever? If so, you should try the People to People Student Ambassador Program. This organization was founded in 1956 by former president Dwight Eisenhower. The Program is still running strong today with delegations in every state and numerous travel programs across the world. The program now serves 250 million people worldwide.

The purpose this unique of the program is to provide students with international educational opportunities, first-hand cultural experiences, and confidence boosting outdoor adventures.

The program was started by Eisenhower with the belief that through these interpersonal travel experiences, ordinary people of different nations and cultures could unite and solve their differences. This program is fun as well as educational, and teaches so many valuable lessons.

People to People offers several adventures; some include Mediterranean Adventure (Greece, Italy and France) or The Australian Adventure (Australia, Fiji and New Zealand). These programs visit the historical landmarks of the countries their visiting, for example the Mediterranean Adventure Program visits, the Acropolis in Greece, Louvre in Paris, Mt. Vesuvivs, and the Eiffel Tower. The Adventures also have outdoor activities like, visiting parks and hiking mountains.

How much does it cost? The costs of the different programs vary, how ever money doesn’t have to be a determining factor in participation. There are many fund raising opportunities and students can also apply or receive scholarships to help ease any financial problems that may occur.

The experience and personal growth that you gain from the experience is tremendous. Not only to you get to have fun, like full-on day students learn to conquer their fears and take risks, these cool “risks” include repelling and lugeing. You also get to see cool landmarks, travel, and learn about different walks of life. The students make great contributions to the countries that they visit, like this summer when the Mediterranean Adventure Rochester delegation visited an artificial bird park and helped clean the lakes and watered plants.

This program has been successful for many years and continues to provide students with a one in a lifetime multi-cultural experience.
