There have been rumors that Washington High School will be getting a new gym floor over the summer, this will mean that many good things are to come for Washington sports.

A new floor may not seem like much, but it will make a huge difference to some people.

“I hope we get the new gym, our kids need better things, I don’t feel like we get enough over here in KCK”, said Coach King.

“A new gym floor is a very positive thing, it could get more people involved with sports,” said Coach Buttermore.

The new floor could bring more people to Washington high school, and could even bring better coaches for the program.

Often students complain about other schools in Shawnee Mission, Blue Valley, Olathe etc. having nicer things then KCK schools.

“I think the team would be that much better, just because we got a new floor that can motivate students,” King said. “Students want to participate in sports when they have nice jerseys, nice equipment, and nice playing surfaces.”

It is not known whether or not the floor will be here for sure, but students and coaches are definitely excited to see what happens over the summer.
