It’s about that time of year when seniors across the
nation put into action months, maybe even years of
planning, in an effort to squeeze as much fun as
possible out of their last couple months of high
school. Administrators know its coming, yet are
powerless to stop it. That's right, its senior prank
season.
Every year members of the senior class organize
secretly and execute a prank during the last few
months of school. The tradition is passed down from
class to class, with each group trying to find
something new and unique to do.
The senior prank is a quintessential part of the high
school experience, along with football games, the
prom, and beating up nerds in gym class. We seniors
deserve every bit of fun we can get, as we live out
our last days of adolescence before stepping off the
cliff to the “real world” of adulthood. The senior
prank should be embraced and remembered not as a
childish act of juvenile irresponsibility, but as a
final teenage blaze of glory.
I support the senior prank, as long as it is carried out in a respectful and inoffensive fashion. Hopefully the tradition continues on for years to come, in new, creative, and safe ways. The senior prank should be unique,
memorable, and most importantly fun.
High school is supposed to be the best four years of
your life. While this is arguable, high school is a
very important time in everybody’s life. As much as
you learn in the classroom, you learn even more about
yourself as a person. High school is important not
because it helps you to get into college or to get a
job, but because it teaches you about the world and
about life. It should be an enjoyable time for
everyone, and the senior prank is, as they say, “all
in good fun.”
