The varsity leyden golf team finished strong this season with 9 wins and 1 loss earning them a conference title.

“We won a share of the conference championship, and we advanced to sectionals” Steven Siekierski, coach for the golf team, said.

From his team he mentions those that stood out throughout the season.

“Konrad Deka won the conference tournament, the regional tournament, took second in the sectional tournament, and finished in 51st place at the state competition,” Siekierski said. “TJ Rose took 4th at the regional tournament.”

He also shares what needs to be improved for next season

“We lost 4 seniors this year so we need to look to rebuild and have some of this year’s sophomores play a big role as juniors next season,” Siekierski added “[We had a] great season. Leyden has not had a piece of the conference championship in many years and to advance to sectionals was special for the players. It was also a great experience to go to the state tournament with Konrad,” Siekierski said.
