The West Jordan High boy’s soccer team kicked off their season on March 9 against Granger. Unfortunately, this game went on during a snowstorm, and it eventually had to be cancelled about half way through. They have also had games against West, Spanish Fork, and Salem Hills. Although these games have been somewhat disappointing for the Jags, Daniel Brockbank does have an optimistic outlook on the season. He says, “Despite our losses so far, we should still do very good this year. As time goes on, we will better unite as a whole. There are still a few things to work out, but all in all it should be a good year.” So far, Rennan Aruda is the leading scorer for the boys, tallying 3 goals. The captains for the Jaguars this season are all seniors, and they are Daniel Brockbank, Alex Singleton, and Ryan Colunga. The team will look to finish up their preseason games with a game at Tooele on March 27, and then they will head straight into region play with their first game at home against Riverton on March 31.
