In February, the month of love, a movie came out that made audiences cry; of laughter. “Date Movie” opened on February 17th and thrilled audiences with its hilarious parody of other movies like “Meet the Parents,” “Wedding Planner,” “Napoleon Dynamite,” and various other films. It was directed by Aaron Seltzer and Jason Friedberg, both who have worked on films like “Scary Movie 1-3” and “Spy Hard.”

“Date Movie” tells a story of a fat young woman, the diary-keeping Julia Jones (Alyson Hannigan). Julia becomes slandered and meets her prince charming a handsome British doctor named Grant Fonckyerdoder (Adam Campbell), through a knock off of “The Bachelor.”

This movie is rated PG-13, but small children should be able to watch as the jokes are funny yet tolerable, and the rest of the comedy is very light. The writers did a good job keeping the profanity at a low level. If you are looking for a comedy that is appropriate for all ages and are looking for a great laugh, this movie would be a great choice.
