To many seniors all over the country, the end of the year brings many exciting things. The transition to adulthood brings on many events, such as graduation and getting accepted into colleges. But what many seniors look forward to as their last big bang of being a kid is the ultimate vacation: BEACH WEEK.

Beach week is something students look forward to starting junior year, possibly even before that. The fun is in planning it and getting a big group to go on vacation before they start a new life at a new college as the next chapter begins. And the best part… NO PARENTS.

Many parents fear this much anticipated week because of the possible dangers. The fact that there could be alcohol, drugs, and a lot of adults is a dreadful reminder of what could happen during the next four years. Some parents do not even allow their kids to go because of this.

Lately there have been solutions in popular areas like Ocean City, MD; these programs have fun activities that do not involve dangerous situations, such as amusement rides, sports tournaments, and parties, all safe alternatives so parents do not have to worry as much.

Many students are excited for summer in general, as well as beach week, and parents can rest a little easier knowing that their kids will be safer, while they transition into more independence.
