Have you noticed the world around us? Have you noticed how insane the heating temperature has been since 1990? Have you noticed the many wild fires, droughts, and floods that have occurred over the past several years? Have you ever wondered the cause of these disasters? I will tell you short and simple, Global Warming.
Now Global warming has been happening even before 1990. And most of you are probably wondering how is Global Warming being caused? Well, airplanes, powerplants, and even cars cause it. Carbon Dioxide pollution is the cause of Global warming. Even though cars and airplanes are a big part of this crime, probably the biggest yet is Coal-burning-power plants. They produce 2.5 billion tons in a single year!
The United States, it is sad to say, would be the largest culprit causing carbon dioxide pollution. The American’s all together create nearly 4 percent of the world’s pollution; we produce 25 percent of that from fossil fuel burning. As a matter of fact, we are by far the largest country producing carbon dioxide pollution in the world. We put in more then China, India, and Japan combined!
Now here is all you can do to try and help fight Global Warming. For one, you can make conserving energy part of your daily routine. Like choosing a compact florescent light bulb over an incandescent bulb you are lowering your energy bill along with 700 pounds of carbon dioxide over the bulbs lifetime. And for you cars you can buy Hybrid gas-electric engines, which can cut global warming pollution by one-third or more today. Already SUV’s and Trucks with these kinds of engines are out for sale by several car companies. And even buy a fridge with an Energy star label can cut global warming pollution by 15 percent.
Don’t just wait for a solution, be the solution! Our world can use as much help as it can get, and you just paying a little more for a safe fridge, or a little more for a good light bulb. Can save our homes, our families, and our world.
