I
recently overheard a discussion in my history class about animal testing. One
person insisted that you should never hurt animals because they are so cute and
cuddly. The other claimed that if scientists did not test on animals then
humans would be the only victims left to torture with new concoctions. Although
humans could very well be tested on, we can't take the risk of
spreading new diseases to each other. Animal testing, though very harmful
to species of all kinds, should be allowed for certain ailments.
Without
humans, maintenance for animals and technology would be left alone and
eventually deplete. To say that you want to volunteer for testing of a new
product is total suicide, whether you need it medically or just need a couple
of bucks. Think about it, though you could make some dough off of a single
injection or abduction, you would be taking a risk too risky for some. It is
very true that we support the livelihood of animals and they support us, in
some ways umentionable, but it could be a matter of life or death in situations
that could've been left alone. Finding way to sustain human beings is what some
scientists have to do, so let them.
