The best defense is a good offense.
The Swine Flu also known as the H1N1 influenza has attacked Shelton. Many students had the swine flu and were out. Teachers took many precautions to prevent it from spreading more, such as using Purell and Clorox wipes. The flu has subsided for now. However, if it were to come back, many new precautions would be taken. Our school nurse, Eve Herman, does not think it will come back around. The private schools have been hit at different times. To prevent it, wash your hands and cover your mouth when you cough. Why is it called swine flu? It is similar to a virus found in pigs but it did not come from pigs. From August 30 to September 19, 182 people died from the H1N1 virus. Many in the health industry predict that incidents of swine flu will start to decline.
