Even though its still early, the Peer Helpers have been fairly busy. We started our year this summer up at school for our initial meeting where we discussed our plans for the approaching school year and selected who would receive the Camp Newbie award. This year we decided to dedicate it to the technology team that worked so hard to bring and help us maintain our wonderful laptops! Also in the summer, we got a chance to meet some of the transfer students and give them a little glimpse of what their upcoming year would be like at Shelton. Right at the beginning of the school year we helped parents find their way throughout the building for the very first parent’s meeting. Once classes began we had another successful Camp Newbie, with much thanks to Brielle and Beasley for being our MCs. Finally, our most recent task was again helping to move along hallway traffic and wondering parents through the school for Open House. So far, this year seems to be running smoothly, and the Peer Helpers look forward to seeing the rest of it through just as smoothly.
