Chargers Humbled in Season Opener
Connor blocks a defender so that Ryan can take care of business. - Paul Atkinson Photography

Richardson – After suffering a last second defeat to the Chargers last season, it was obvious the Cardinals of JP II were out for redemption.  And redemption is exactly what they got, coming away with a 48 – 6 victory to the Chargers.  It was definitely a learning experience for a young Chargers team that lost the majority of their starters from last season.  Shelton’s lone touchdown came on Thomas Triplett touchdown catch right before the half.  It’s obvious the Chargers have a lot of work to do, but if they can survive their district games, they might have a shot at making a third consecutive postseason appearance.
