The Varsity boy’s baseball team is coming off a season that may never be repeated again. The Timberwolves posted a 22-0 undefeated season that landed them a second straight Class M championship. They are on a 28 game winning streak, which is the longest active streak in the league. Last year’s championship game hero Moose Bourdeau, who drove in the game winning run with an RBI single will look to lead the talented group of players to a third straight title. Moose is a four- year starter for the Timber- wolves and has seen his improvement dramatically change every season. During his freshman season, he saw the Timberwolves get upset in the quarterfinals to a pesky Hopkinton team. His sophomore campaign was full of excitement as the Timberwolves came from nowhere to win the state championship. Moose was voted second team All State as a catcher. That is remarkable knowing that he was only a sophomore and just learning the ropes. His junior season was by far the most rewarding. He batted .385 and led the Timberwolves to an undefeated season and a second title. He was rewarded by the coaches when he was selected first team All-State and he received MVP for the team. In my eyes Moose is the best player in Class M and maybe the best catcher in the state. What makes him such a great catcher is his ability to call the game. He knows when to call the right pitch and knows where the ball needs to go. It is very uncommon for a ball to hit the backstop when he is patrolling the plate. He has great stamina and even when he is hurt he will stick through the pain. His senior season can only get better.
