The Lady Mt'Neer Golf team played at the District Tournament in Marshfield on Monday October 5th and qualified to go to the state championships as a team, and Brewer qualified as an individual.
“Each year brings a new feeling. Even though I won last year, this year was more significant because it’s my last year,” said Brewer (12).
State competition will be held October 19 and 20th in Sedalia.
"Our goals at state are to concentrate and not let a bad shot affect the game," said Amelia Bramer (10).
On August 31, the girls’ golf team traveled Seymour Tourney at Marshfield. Brewer placed second as an individual with a score of 76, and Bramer placed seventh as an individual with a score of 88. The team as a whole placed second altogether.
“I think this season is going way better than the last. There is no conflict this year and we are all really close,” said Shelbie Donoho (10).
At the Ozark Tourney at Fremont Hills, Brewer placed fourth as an individual. The team as a whole placed fourth.
On September 8, the girls traveled to Silo Ridge for the Bolivar Tourney. They placed third as a team.
In the match with Republic and Aurora at Island Green, the girls as a team placed second. They were only six strokes behind Republic. Brewer won first place and received a medal.
“The funniest memory I have was after a tournament, we went to El Rodeo and we told the waiter it was Shelbie’s birthday. They made her wear a big purple sombrero!” said Bramer.
