DRAWING
Pencil Drawing: 1st place - Adam Stanley w/ “The Second Horseman” All you need is a paper, a pencil, and an imagination to sketch a good drawing.
Color Drawing: 1st place - AJ Martinez w/ “A Woman” Colored pencils would help bring your sketch to life and dazzle the audience with ingenuity.
Black and White Drawing: 1st place - Maureen White w/ “White Clouds” Maybe you don’t like pencils, maybe you’re allergic, either way, a doodle will do.
Animation: 1st place - Chris Whyman w/ “Falling Tree” Japanese cartoons are taking the nation by storm, as well as art. Anime or Manga is the requirement here.
PAINTING
Acrylic: 1st place - Todd Lenhoff w/ “Peacock Oil” based painting medium utilizing strong colors and images on canvas.
Watercolor: 1st place - Todd Lenhoff w/ “Palm Trees” - soft, moving colors and plenty of wetness separates this style of painting.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Black and White: 1st place: Robert Lente w/ “Smilin’” From the ever so gifted photography class, using black and white photos to “develop” a “positive” impression.
Special Effects: 1st place - Robert Lente w/ “Native Beauty” Artists are encouraged to experiment with different styles and forms for creative, inspiring shots.
PRINTING
1st place - Adam Stanley w/ “The Horseman” (Black) Printing is big in business, whether it’s a cereal box or a kick butt t-shirt, it’s still neat.
POTTERY
1st place - Ernest Correa w/ “Sphere of Nature” Whether for decoration or for pretty flowers, clay formation has been an art for years.
SCULPURE
1st place - Todd Lenhoff w/ “Mask” The statue of David was nowhere to be seen, yet equally impressive sculptures could be found.
JEWELRY
1st place - Sean Kennedy w/ “Tear Drop” Fancy earrings or hot wall-mounts, jewelry is a much bigger form of art than you may think.
GRAPHIC ARTS
1st place - Sean Kennedy w/ “Untitled” Once again dealing along the lines of printing, but with a higher degree of “graphical artsy-ness.”
COMPUTER ART
1st place - Jay Clem w/ “Ghost Town” You’ve seen Pixar and Dreamworks movies before, and the artists that made them had to start somewhere.
OPEN
1st place - Ruth Huning w/ “WWII American Soldier” This category is for the rest of the art that has no real category but is still considered art.
Well, that was the art show in a nutshell, and if you weren’t there to see it, then smack yourself on the forehead, because it was worth the time.
