Construction in Old Main is being completed, slowly, but surely. The majority of the building has been blocked off and barricaded since the last week of August.
“The plaster was pulling away from the ceiling,” says Steve Galas, assistant principal. “Structurally the roof is fine, but the plaster could have fallen.”
Building problems have created many delays for teachers, as well as students.
“I lost my office space and I felt confused and unorganized,” said Ms. Darla Tate, history teacher.
Some of these greivances have been that students must walk around the middle section of Old Main, creating huge clogs of students in the corridors and courtyard.
Galas hopes the construction will be complete in four to six weeks.
