For many, many years, parents have sensored and forbidden what they believed to be ?nappropriate.? Do these parents have the right idea? Most simply, yes. Do they often go way overboard on these actions? That question is in the possitive as well. I understand the thinking behind stopping your child from seeing some things he may not be old enough to see. It becomes wrong, when you shelter your child to the point that he/she is physically unfit in a group their own age. For instance, those parents who homeschool their children often times wind up with somewhat of a momma's child.? These kids often times just can?t socialize with kids their own age, often times because they?ve not been exposed to enough. Now, some limits for these statements should be set. I strongly do not believe that a 6 year old child should witness someone being decapitated, or even an R rated movie. However, stopping your child from finding out about sex and other topics, and keeping them so sheltered they have no clue what goes on outside the house, cripples them rather than helps them. Parents, do not cripple your child. Learn some limits, grow a little. After saying this, kids, listen to your parents. Whether you believe it or not, nine times out of ten, they actually do know what?s best for you. Patience and virtue is needed. Please, use this.
