The Forbidden Kingdom: The Review Embed This Article
The Forbidden Kingdom, starring Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Michael Angarano, and Yifei Liu, was, in my opinion an awesome movie. Yes, it does start out as a generic Kung Fu movie, with standard Kung Fu characters, and yet, The Forbidden Kingdom is anything but generic. Sure it starts out slow but once it starts, it delivers! The story begins with Jason; a teen obsessed with classic Kung Fu movies and Hong Kong films finds himself whisked away to a far off land after touching a staff he found in a pawn shop. Upon his arrival he is met by soldiers in search of the staff to bring to their master, the Jade Warlord. Along the way Jason meets quite the motley crew of allies including the “drunken immoral” Lu Yan (Jackie Chan) the silent monk (Jet Li) and the golden sparrow (Yifei Liu). While on his journey to return the staff that brought him to this mystical land, Jason must learn the way of the warrior and ultimately face the Jade Warlord. I don’t want to give away too much of the story but trust me, if you like the starring actors or Kung Fu movies, I Highly recommend this movie!

So all-in-all, I’d give it 4 out of 5 stars!
