The Student Council is helping with the Lewistown Food Pantry Winter Jam
by asking all high school students to bring in canned goods between now and December 5. All donations will go to Lewistown’s food pantry, which serves the southern part of Fulton County. Collection bins for each class will be located in the office. Students may also donate at Hilda’s Pantry on Saturday, December 6, where there will be music by Hilda’s Country Jammers and an auction to raise money for the pantry. Admission is just a donation of non-perishable foods or paper products. For more information you can call Linda Adams, Event Chairman, at 668-2885.
After December 5, the council is asking that students bring in money donations to the Astoria Food Baskets, which are delivered to deserving families and individuals within our community. Whichever class has donated the most to the Food Pantry and to the Food Baskets by 8 A.M. on December 18 will receive a pizza party paid for by the student council on December 19, the last day of the semester before winter break.
