By The Class of 2009
Recently, as the editors of The Cutting Edge were going though their mail, they came across a cryptic scroll containing prophesies concerning the Class of 2009. Rather than tamper with the form and content of the document, the staff decided to publish it as is -- warts and all!
Ten years from now I will be happy. I will have a job as a nurse, and I will be helping people. I could be married. I might have a family. I will have traveled to different countries. Ten years from now I will have new and different experiences. (Sydney Carmody) . . . In the future I plan to attend four years of college at Keystone studying the field of art. After college I hope to have a well paying job in the art field. I also plan on dabbling in writing and modeling. I hope to publish a book or two and to change people’s lives. In the end I hope to have a happy family and a home of my own. (Heather Bixby) . . . Where will I be in ten years? I see myself as a computer technician for a business, or owning my own business in computer repair. I plan on attending Word of Life Bible Institute for a year and then going to Johnson Tech for a general IT degree, then I will take my A+ certification exam. I will try to work for companies such as The Geek Squad or Computer Emergency Room, or I will save up money to start my own business. (Chad Ainey) . . . Ten years from now I will be a fabulous mother and have a gorgeous husband with two kids. One will be a girl and the other a boy. I will live in a mansion, my job will be as a registered nurse, and my husband will be a lawyer. I will also have two dogs and a cat. IfI don’t make it has a registered nurse, I will want to be a massage therapist. It has always been my dream to be a registered nurse or a massage therapist, and I will also be a major fashion photographer. (Amanda Garcia) . . . In ten years I can see myself being an elementary teacher. My plans are to live in a nice big house next to a beach. I also plan on being married to a wonderful man and to have two children. I again see myself having a nice car and have a wonderful back yard for three dogs. I also see myself to have boats for the ocean. (Mary Tarbox) . . . Ten years from now my life could take three routes. First, I see myself single, no kids with a good job. I would have gone to college and become an early childhood teacher. Second, I see myself married, a stay at home mom with four to six kids and a husband with a great paying job. Finally, I see myself single, no kids, about twenty cats, and living in a 1970’s style van (with a bed in the back) or a camper, in a corn field by the Susquehanna River. This were I see myself in ten years from now. (Ashley Aldrich) . . . Ten years from now I plan on being a successful pharmacist working in a chain pharmacy. I plan on owning a house in Northeastern Pennsylvania. I also plan to be married with children. I will stay in touch with my best friends from high school. I will be at the Moose Lodge with the class of 2008. I will be coaching football and living the American dream. Ten years from now will be amazing. (Stephen Andujar) . . . Ten years from now I plan to be living my life entirely for God. I would like to be graduated from college and have a job as a youth pastor. By the time I am twenty-eight, I hope to be married and building a family. I am not sure where I want to live, but I do know that I want to have a positive influence on where ever I decide to live. I am not worried about how much money I will be making. I know that God will provide for me. (Dylon Beamer) . . . Ten years from now I hope to be happy. I hope that at that point in my life I am doing something that I love. Also I hope to be surrounded by people who I care about. I hope that ten years down the road I will have experienced much more of what life has to offer. (Christine Biegert) . . . In ten years I hope to find my place in life. I plan to be a civil engineer living in a nice house with a nice garage on the outskirts of town. I hope to start a family and possibly have a couple children. In ten years I hope to be the successful individual that I have been inspired to be, not having to worry about living paycheck to paycheck. (Daniel S. Boughton) . . . In ten years I see myself as a successful person who has graduated from Ridley-Lowell. I will be working in a hospital as a Medical Assistant or as a Registered Nurse. I hope to be married and have a big family. I’m not exactly sure where I’ll be living, but I think I’ll be happy and to me that’s all that matters. (Caitlin Burke) . . . In ten year I would like to be in a career of being a wildlife consultant. I would like to live in Texas. I want to live near a city but on the country side. I want to explore the world in pursuing my career. I would like to live a great and happy life. (Carlos Cuevas) . . . It’s hard for me to see myself at any time or place in the future, because I don’t even know what I’m doing tomorrow. But if I had to choose where I’d like to see myself, I’d hope to have a successful career and a few close friends. I would also want to be somewhere far away from Susquehanna, but still in contact with my friends who still resided there. Though it’s hard for me to see myself in ten years, I can still easily see my best friend, Connor, and I as being best friends (I think it will be impossible to get rid of him.) I don’t entirely know what the future will bring me, but I can hope for the best. (Molly Edwards) . . . In the next ten years, I plan to be in the acting business. After I graduate, I would like to join the National Guard for four years. Then afterword, I would like to go to college for four years. After I graduate from college, I would like to get a carrer in acting. Acting is something that I love to do. If I were not to make it as an actor, I would do artwork for a company. (Scott G. Fisher) . . . Where will I be ten years from now? I am not exactly sure where I will be ten years from now. I know that after college I want to move west for a while. I might do odd jobs or utilize whatever degree I may get. I want to see the country and descover what makes me happy. I would like to start a family and have a nice house. I don’t want anything to complex, just nice and simple. Ten years from now I just want to be as happy as I am now. (Connor Freitag) . . . Ten years from now I see myself graduated from college and working. I also want to live in the middle of nowhere and doing a lot of hunting. I want to get married at the end of the ten years and have only one or two kids. So that’s where I want to be in ten years. (Tim Gall) . . . In ten years I see myself sitting on the porch of my large, Victorian style home, in a cozy little development, reading a passionate love story while my husband serves me lemonade. Up to his point in life, I have attained a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, and am practicing in a clinic nearby. My husband sits down next to me and we discuss the future of our growing family. He is a doctor, by the way. We retire to the living room where we watch a movie and I call my mother about plans to visit her and my father for the weekend. After our conversation, I decide to head to bed because I have to work in the morning and will be going shopping immediately after with my best friends Jessica Hubal and Leann Terpstra. (Christy L. Glidden) . . . In ten years I see myself graduated from college with my masters degree and a well established career. I foresee myself owning my own house and having my dream car. I also believe that I will be happily married or in a long term relationship. I hope that in those ten years I will have kids. (Jennifer Glover) . . . Ten years from now I plan on being graduated from college with a great job. I want to move away from Susquehanna and experience something new. I want to live somewhere warmer and possibly close to a beach. I want to be married and have many children. I want to have a larger house, in-ground swimming pool, and BMW. (Brittany Heller) . . . I’m not quite sure where I’m going to be in ten years. I don’t know where I’m headed. I hope to have a good job that I love. I also hope that I will know what I want to do with my life by then. There are so many possibilities that I could take, and I hope that I can find myself with some thing that I will be happy with. (Chelsea Henry) . . . If I could see myself ten years from now, I want to be happy. In order for me to be happy I will be working on racecars, making money doing so. I will also be moved or just moving into a new built log cabin home. I want to have at least one kid within these next ten years with a beautiful wife to live the rest of my years with. (Matt Holmes) . . . In ten years I hope to own my own optometry business. This business will be named “Eye Spy” and will be awesome. It will become a famous optometry business and cater to celebrates who want different colored eyes. Oh yeah, I guess i'll have a family too. (David Jackson) . . . Ten Years from now I will be living a fabulous life. I will co-write a book with Ashley Wray, which will be based on our lives. Trillions of copies will be sold and we will become millionaires. I’ll be jet setting all over the world. I’ll also buy a private island and throw parties on it for all my fabulous friends. I’ll love my life and everyone in it. (Lindsay Lawrenson) . . . Over the next ten years, I will attend St. Bonaventure University where I will study Journalism and Mass Communication. I plan to maintain a high grade point average in college so that I will be eligible to enter an internship that will prepare me for a career that involves editing, producing, managing, or writing. After gaining first-hand experience as an intern, I plan to work for a major broadcasting news station where I will produce video, write and/or edit news stories, or serve as station manager. (Justin Lee) . . . In ten years, I see myself having a successful career and being a wife and mother. There’s not really a specific job right now I can see myself doing, but I know for sure what my intentions are as far as a family goes. In ten years I hope to have one or two children of my own and a loving husband. (Kaylin Lindquist) . . . Ten years from now I see myself graduated from ESU with a degree in Health/Physical Education and a certificate in some other subject, to make myself more marketable. I also see myself having a successful career teaching at a high school someplace, who knows maybe even here at Susquehanna Community High School. Towards the end of those ten years I see myself settling down and raising a family. (Mike Lloyd) . . . Since this past school year (11th grade), I knew what I wanted to do. I want to become a State Police Officer, and then work my way up to eventually become an F.B.I. agent or work for the C.I.A. How would I get there? Well I plan on joining the NAVY for four years after I graduate from High School. I would like to go in for MP (Military Police). How does this tie in with where I want to be in ten years? Well for one, I want to be working for the government making loads and loads of money. If I have a choice to move where I want, I would like to live either in Florida or Virginia. I plan on getting married right after I get out of the NAVY, and having a few kids. So that pretty much sums up what and where I want to be in ten years. I will try my hardest to accomplish these goals. (Joshua McKinney) . . . Ten years from now hopefully I’ll be doing alright. As of right now I have no idea what I would like to do with my life. But whenever I figure that something out I hope I’ll be successful. If I ever escape from this town I’d love to live in a big city. I think if I move out of this town and get away I’ll have a better chance of finding out who I am. I’ve always wanted to live in New York City, Boston, or Virginia Beach. Most importantly I want to have fun throughout my life. I’m sure I’ll be working, hopefully not broke. You might see me driving a car that is environmentally safe, possibly a Prius. That is where I’ll be in ten years. (Cassie Miller) . . . In ten years, I see myself working in Africa for the United Nations. I will have gained my bachelors degree from Marquette University in International Studies and Anthropology. After receiving my bachelor’s degree from Marquette, I will have most likely gained my masters degree from the University of Chicago or Northwestern. In ten years, I will probably be continuing my education, working towards my doctorate. While in Africa, I will most likely be working for UNICEF, working towards bettering the conditions for underprivileged children, ending child labor, and trying to end the conscription of children in their country’s armed forces. If I choose not to work for the United Nations, then I will probably be a freelance anthropologist. Either way, I will be happy with my line of work and possibly married to someone who shares my passion for philanthropy. (Hannah Price) . . . Ten years from now I see myself in the Air force, living quite well. I might own my own house by then, but I probably will be the only person living in it. I won’t be living in Susquehanna; I could be living anywhere really. I guess I will be living where ever the Air Force puts me. So in ten years I figure I will be doing pretty well for myself. (Justin Redington) . . . Ten years from now I hope to be alive. If I am alive I will have graduated from college. I will hopefully have a steady job and be starting a family. I will be living a happy and successful life. I will have gotten this way without being rude or disrespectful to not only my classmates, but also anyone I work with. It would be silly of me to say I know exactly what I will be doing with my life. Life is one of those things that I can not plan or predict because it can change at any moment. One thing I am positive of is that I will not be clouding my goals with unrealistic hopes such as moving to a foreign country or getting one of the top jobs in the world. Where ever life takes me, I will be glad to have not lived it as one of those people who thinks everyone other than them self is unimportant or inferior. Ten years from now I only want to be happy, whether that means I am making tons of money or just enough to live on. The only thing I can be certain about in my life is that I will achieve my goals without treating others around me horribly or letting work and education get in the way of having a little fun every now and then. Life is short and when I look back at it I do not want to remember having lived a dull, work filled life. (Lacey Sholtiss) . . . In ten years from now I would like to travel, and then settle on the East Coast. I hope to have finished college, and have a job that I love. I wish to have a large house and lots of money to spend, but no children for a few years. I’ll keep in touch with all of my friends and family, and visit as much as possible. (Kierstyn E. Slocum) . . . In ten years I will have completed my education at Penn State with a degree in Environmental Systems Engineering. I will have a job in my field of study that will allow me to earn plenty of money. Hopefully, I will be living somewhere in rural northeastern Pennsylvania, which will allow me to continue to hunt and enjoy the outdoors in my free time. (Aaron Soden) . . . In ten years I hope to be a successful Alumni of East Stroudsburg University. I plan on moving south from here and have a good paying job. I hope to live in a huge house about an hour away from a beach. Hopefully I will get married and have a kid. (Samantha Soules) . . . Ten years from now, many things may change. Something I see myself doing is living somewhere warm. California or somewhere down South would be an awesome place to live. I want to marry a guy of my dreams and be happy with him. Having kids is also something I plan on doing in my future. I would like to get an amazing job where I will be making a lot of money but not working everyday where I would have no time with my husband or kids. Also, I see myself best friends with the same best friends that I have right now. Victoria King, Mary Tarbox, and Leann Terpstra have been there for me through everything and they are three people I would never want to lose. As I said before, many things may change in ten years, but I am hoping for me they will not. (Ashley Stein) . . . In ten years I plan to have graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a degree in some kind of teaching. Hopefully I’ll be in the process of paying off my first house somewhere in Virginia. Maybe in ten years I’ll even be lucky enough to have a car and a motor home. If all goes as I plan, I will never have to come back to this town, for any purpose. (Ed Stone) . . . Ten years from now, I hope to be living a happy and successful life. I will be graduated from Misericordia University with a degree in nursing. I will be a caring, hard-working nurse for an oncology department in a large hospital. I hope to be living in a suburban town in a large house with a husband and possibly a small family. (Leann Terpstra) . . . Ten years from now I see myself teaching history to a class full of teenagers that think they already know everything and living in a nice home starting a family. (Jeremy Wallace) . . . I see myself in 10 years in a great career in sports management. I will be living in a nice house with a great sports car far far away from this place. I will have a nice family hopefully with a son. I see myself in 10 years having seasonal tickets to the Georgia Force arena football team to watch my best friend Justin Westbrook. I will have a lot of money and will be managing a football team. (Anthony Wayman) . . . In ten years I plan to be graduated from college and have a successful career. I would like to start a family and live in the country, where I can do the outdoor activities that I grew up around, such as hunting and fishing. Because sports have been such a big part of my life, I would also maybe like to coach either basketball or volleyball. As of right now these are my aspirations for the future. Overall, I want to be successful, not just in the form of having a lot of money, but in the form of having a family and being able to pass on the knowledge that I have gained over the years. (Jeffrey Williams) . . . In ten years I will be twenty-eight years old. Around that time I can see myself writing a book about my life and past experiences with Lindsay Lawrenson. After I sell trillions of copies I won’t know what to do with all my money. I will meet up with Lindsay and Jordan Boerner and take my private jet to the exotic island of Awray. I will then become president of the United States of America. I know I will absolutely LOVE my life. (Ashley Wray) . . . In ten years I see myself successfully finished with college. I hope to have a good career and to make good money and just enjoying life. I hope to help my parents out so they can live life to the fullest. I want to return all of the favors that they have done for me in my life. I also hope to be married and be starting a family. This is what I see myself doing in ten years and hopefully down this very long path to living life I have many more successes to come my way. (Samantha Neal) . . . In ten years I will have graduated from Baptist Bible College with a degree in secondary math education. I may also have a degree in counseling. I will be a high school math teacher or a high school guidance counselor. I will have a family. I will be living in a suburban area somewhere in New England. (Angela Leonard) . . . In ten years I will be 27 and see myself done with school and working for a big magazine corporation. I will have my masters in graphic design and business as well as be financially stable. My daughter will be 12 by then so I will have a house and have her enrolled in whatever activities she want to enroll in. Also I see myself starting a clothing company with Ed Stone. Him as the brains behind it all and me doing all the designs and advertising. (Kimberly Marie Fortune) . . . In ten years I plan to be either in the Navy, so I can get a lot of money and good benefits, or I plan to become a physical education teacher, teaching little children and starting a family. I also plan on having a nice house, a nice car, and not be in debt. (Zachary Wignall) . . . In ten years I would like to have an amazing job that allows me to make mistakes, but have them look intentional. I would also like to be traveling throughout Italy, taking pictures and experiencing life. I do not plan on having a permanent residence, but allowing life to take me where it may. A family is not expected, but then again nothing in life never is. (Rosalee Mead) . . . I’m not really sure where I see myself in ten years but I would like to be in a band playing guitar. I’ve decided that that’s something I would really enjoy doing, but it’s not a very sound plan. I also see myself in some engineering job, like electrical. But I think I would also enjoy teaching, if I could get myself organized and responsible. I would love to play guitar though, but I’m not really good enough to make a career out of it, we’ll see where it got me ten years from now. (Ryan Fortune-Squires) . . . Ten years from now I hope to be a major business owner. I plan on going to business school and getting a degree. From there I would like to buy and sell businesses. Once I have settled down with my career I would like to start a family. I want to live on the west coast near a major city, but far enough outside of the city so I have plenty of room for outdoor activities. I think a living near a city would be the best place to be for the major I plan on having. This will allow me to be where most major businesses are. (Danielle Moore) . . . In ten years I see myself doing things that I like to do. I can see myself working at a job that I don’t dislike. I can see myself making money and living on my own. I’ll be married and have a one to two kids. I have enough money to take care of my kids but also have money to do the things that I want to do. I will have traveled the world, seeing different places that I like. (Kelly Sheriff) . . . In ten years I see myself being a graduate from ITT tech in Georgia. Then go on to be a Georgia Police officer. If I make it high enough in the Police force, I would like to try to become a SWAT officer. Have a little house by a lake. If that does not work out I hope to be an arena football player for the Georgia Force. Maybe have a wife no kids because, to me, I think that would be a young age to have kids . I know one thing will remain the same, I will always keep in touch with members of my family. (Justin Westbrook) . . . After high school I’m going into the army, I’m enlisting to be an MP (military police). I am enlisting for six years, and then if I like it I would like to re-enlist for another 4-6 years. Eventually if the army is everything I thought it would be I will stay in until retirement. If I don’t like the army and end up getting out at the end of my six years, I would like to become a state trooper. Eventually I would like to live somewhere in the country with a lot of property and horses. As of right now I can’t see kids in my future any time soon, but eventually I would like to have up to two children. That is where I plan to be in about 10 years. (Alyssa Hutchinson) . . . In ten years I would like to be married and starting a family. I don’t believe I will in the middle of a successful career, since I still don’t know what I would like to do. I see myself helping people or animals. I would also like to leave Pennsylvania, and live somewhere more populated. I don’t know what I want to do for sure yet, but I do believe that when I figure it out I will not give up. (Heather Mitchell-Flanagan) . . . Ten years from now I plan to be graduated from Mary Baldwin College with my dream job, first house and in the process of adopting my first child. (Misha Weldy) . . . In ten years, I see myself living in a small town near Philadelphia. I will be married to a fabulous husband who likes to travel with me. We will be living in a cute home with a large backyard. We will also have one or maybe two small children running around. I will be teaching mathematics at the local high school and living a happy and successful life. (Jessica Hubal) . . . In ten years, I would like to see myself graduated from college with a Doctorate’s degree in Psychology or a major in Art. I wouldn’t mind seeing myself being happily married with about two kids. I’d like to be financially stable and be able to fulfill everything I’ve wanted to do throughout my life. Really, I would just like to see myself happy in all aspects of life. (Kayshia Kruger) . . . I will be on being in a plane, headed to Japan, ready to play guitar at a sold out stadium with my band. I will be on a plane traveling the world living my dream and playing sold out stadiums and rock arenas, I obviously want to become a musician. I will not accept defeat, nor will I accept anything but to become a musician. There is nothing in this world that will stop me, and there is nothing greater then my passion and my apprehensive attitude toward becoming a musician. My determination for music is greater than Ghandi trying to make peace. I will become a musician and if I don’t then I will die, my feelings are music, or death. I know there will be hard times, and lots of arrogant worthless people to put me down and say that I cannot and will not achieve my dream, but my thoughts of laughing in the faces of those people who said I will never make it, will be the greatest moment of my life. I will be arrogant and vindictive to the people who said I will never make it. Someone once said “if someone tells you, you can’t accomplish something, it’s because they can’t accomplish it themselves.” (David Lowery) . . . In 10 years I see myself as an Elementary Education teacher. I also see myself married and possibly with two kids. I will be living in a nice house and far away from here. I also see myself driving a nice car. In 10 years I also see myself being around family and friends. I see myself living life to the fullest. (Lizzy Dooley) . . . I am very excited to be graduating and ten years from now I see myself doing exactly what I wanted to do my whole life. I see myself working as a registered nurse at a good hospital in New Jersey. I plan to live near the beach, with a husband and a few kids. I would like to have a beautiful home, built the exact way I want it. Included in my plans is coming to visit Susquehanna and keep in touch with my good friends. Along with having a good job and family, I would love to do some traveling throughout the United States. (Monique Drag) . . . Ten years from now I will be a successful massage therapist working at a spa in the city. I will have a house and hopefully be married and have many children. I will have accomplished graduating high school, a technical college in Scranton, and a four year service in the Peace Corps down in Africa and Brazil. Ten years from now I will still be happy. (Victoria King) . . . Ten years from now, I see myself in two possible places. The first place I might wind up in is in the desert in the Middle East. The Second place, my more favorable place, is landing a job in massage therapy and one day owning my own business. One thing that I can’t picture is staying in this state for the rest of my life. I want to live in a place near the beach with a lot of people to bring business to me. I am determined to start my own business in massage therapy and live near the beach. That is where I can see myself ten years from now. (Robert Dorunda)
