The KCRA canned food drive, an annual event for Roseville High School, begins today. This year the event has changed in that it is a school competition. RHS is competing with both Woodcreek and Antelope High Schools.

“We must crush Woodcreek,” said ASB treasurer Jonathan Pham.

Last year, Roseville raised 7,000 cans to help homeless and needy families. This year, the school’s goal is to reach 10,000.

“We are thinking of providing incentives for donations,” said ASB president Senya Merchant. “Items like t-shirts and stickers might be handed out at football games for can donations.”

The food drive will begin next week, with special days such as “Top Ramen Thursday” and “Tuna Tuesday” returning from past years.
